Oh Hey There

Can you believe that this is the first time I have turned my computer on in a week! It actually feels pretty amazing because I was pretty productive and not distracted by Facebook or Pinterest.

I finally got my Marcelle Medallion basted and quilted this week, now all I need to to is bind it!!! If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen these, but I just wanted to share for now until I take some decent pictures.

I used 40wt Aurifil thread, and I LOVE it! I've heard some people have had issues with it breaking and not cooperating but I didn't have a single issue.

Jeff and I are going out tonight for my belated birthday dinner, so after a couple glasses on wine I will be in a great mood to get the binding sewn on this sucker! I hope y'all have a great weekend!

  1. Beautiful quilt! I love the fabrics and the colors! Happy belated birthday! -Brittany

  2. I LOVE the 40wt! It adds such a beautiful texture, and a nice visible stitch.

  3. It looks fantastic!! ;) ... Happy (belated) Birthday, Hilary!! Hope you enjoyed your celebration tonight!! (:

  4. Awesome, you did a giant spiral!! Was it a pain to have to turn the quilt around to do it that way? I've always been afraid to try that. It looks beautiful, this is such a gorgeous quilt.

    1. Thanks! It was actually much easier than I was thinking it was going to be! The hardest part was the center, but once I got going it went super smoothly.

  5. Happy belated birthday - and I LOVE how you've quilted it! Looks amazing!

  6. All the spiraling looks amazing! Congrats on being so close to the finish. Happy belated birthday too.

  7. So loving this spiral!!! Want to hear more about that:)

  8. What a gorgeous quilt! The spiral quilting is gorgeous. I've been doing a bit of a digital detox this month and it's absolutely glorious not to have all the digital distraction all the time. :)
