T-Minus 2 Days and Couting!

Our moving day is quickly approaching, and I don't think I could be any more excited! I am up to my eyeballs with packing, and it seems like it is never going to end. What is it about moving that makes me feel like I own way too much stuff.

Thursday cannot come fast enough!

2014 Finish-A-Long: Q2 List

This is just a quick post during a packing break :) The 2014 Finish-A-Long is moving right along and Q2 is already upon us.

With our move coming up, I don't except to get much done during the first part of this quarter. But I am looking forward to getting unpacked and making progress on some things on my WIP list.

1. My Sister's Ten BOM. Finishing the quilt top is already my ALYoF goal for April, so finishing the entire thing will be great for my Q2 goals.

2. My Shining Stars BOM just needs to be basted and quilted.

3. A secret project that I am working on for a friend. :)

Since we're moving, I don't want to overload myself with too much stuff. I think 3 things is a perfect amount!

Things Might be a Little Sparse

Hello All! I know I haven't been posting as much as I should recently. We have been in the process of trying to find a rental for a few months now, and it has been quite an ordeal. There is a housing shortage in Houston and it is a pain in the butt to find a place to live.

Thankfully we were fortunate to get approved for a house this week!!! I am over the moon excited about finally getting out of an apartment complex, and to have a house of our own. Even though we are renting it's going to be such a blessing to have a yard, and a garage, and no upstairs neighbors that stomp around like elephants in the middle of the night!

That being said, I am in full packing mode now because we move in less than a month! I'm going to try and keep a couple projects out to work on, but most of my sewing stuff is going to get packed up for the most part.

I'll only be posting a little bit here and there between now and our move, but don't worry! I love y'all and I' be back to normal posting as soon as I can!

April ALYoF Goal

It took me a little while to decide what WIP I wanted to dedicate as my April goal... You would think it would be easy considering I have an entire list to choose from. So after much deliberation I have decided to make finishing my Sister's Ten BOM quilt top my goal. We're (hopefully) moving into our new house on the 1st of May so I didn't want to get too adventurous with my goal. My Sister's Ten BOM is cut and ready to go so it shouldn't be too tricky to finish amongst the packing.

The last time I worked on these blocks consistently was September of last year, so I really need to get the ball rolling since the BOM ended in December. I was telling my friend that other day that I have kinda fallen out of love with this quilt because I'm not a huge fan of the fabrics anymore.

She mentioned selling it, and I entertained the idea, but the other day my Grammo mentioned that my Great-Aunt Gloria would love a quilt so this one is going to be hers. I think she'll really love it!
