My Master WIP List

The other night after I finished my Marcelle Medallion (pictures coming soon) I sat down and thought of every craft/sewing project I have in the works, and made a master list of unfinished items. I am a bit embarassed that it has 20 things on it! I honestly didn't think it was that many haha.

FYI I am counting project that have fabric pulls and patterns as WIP's; most of the garments fall into this category.

So from this point on (I'll probably break this rule) I am not going to start any other projects without first finishing some from my WIP list. I think A Lovely Year of Finishes and the 2014 Finish Along will be great motivators for this. I work better with set deadlines or goals.

Tops that Need Quilting:

Quilting in Progress:

Garments in Progress:
  • Kat Colorblocked Dress
  • W's Pajamas
  • Mom's Skirts
  • AMH Pajamas
Cross-Stitch:
  • W's Birth Facts Sampler
  • Thomas Kincaid Pinocchio Mini
  • Disney World Authentic Mickey Mouse Kit
Tops Needing to be Pieced:
  • Sister's 10 BOM
  • Advent Calendar
  • Scrappy Trip Bee
Bags:
  • Market Tote from Liberty Love
  • Emily's Bag

So there it is! I'm looking forward to getting some of these things finished up and being able to add some new things into the mix. I seriously need to control my sewing ADHD haha.

How many projects have y'all had in the works all at once?

  1. Oh, how well I know the feeling of sewing ADHD! *looks at the litter of half-finished projects in her quilting room*

I really like the 'snowballs, stars, and squares' quilt with the grey background and the blue-grey-purple fabrics - very pretty - and a good use of scraps, I'll bet!

    Lovely work all over!

  2. Wow, what a list! I can't do more than one thing at once. Best of luck with it all. I love the grey/rainbow chevrons quilt!

  3. visiting from WIP Wednesday. Love the chevron style quilt. You have a lot on your plate at the moment. I can't bring myself to do a list as it would get near 50 items I reckon.

    1. Thank you so much! Some of these are from 2009, so I have been building this list for several years lol I've finally gotten to the point where I need to get some things cleared out.

  4. Wow! That's a lot of wip's! I'm unusual in the quilting world......i don't tend to have wip's! However - I currently have 3! That's a record for me! But now the kids are back at school i plan on attacking them!

  9. Love the quilt on the park bench! But then again, I'm a sucker for grey with pops of colour. In terms of how many projects I usually have on the go, it varies greatly. If I'm making a lot of time for sewing, I tend to finish things, but if my sewing is more sporadic, I often end up with a pile of WiPs. I just want to start new stuff with my prime sewing time. :)

  10. Looks like you'll be busy for a while! Not sure I want to make a list of all my WIPs...that might be scary!

  11. I think that I've tempered my sewing ADHD somewhat in the past year or two. My favorite part is the cutting and putting the first few blocks together... and then I get bored sometimes. Right now I have two tops that need to be quilted and two BOM projects that just started that will be ongoing all year and one hand quilting monstrosity that I have been working on for an embarassingly long time. Which is a huge improvement on what it usually is!

  14. I would probably start crying if I listed all my WIPs. Sewing ADD is such a great description for it! :)

  15. Oh man, more than two going at the same time and I get pretty stressed out. And frustrated because my progress is SO slow on them because I'm jumping around so much. I like having two because if I get stuck on one I can work on the other, and keep the piles of fabric separate. I keep a list on my sewing room wall of what I'll make next, and usually start brainstorming for it before I'm done with my current project.
