Menu Planning Grocery List + A Free Download

A few weeks back I found this awesome free printable from Elizabeth over at LIFE in yellow for a weekly meal planning. I love the concept of being about to know at a glance what you have the ingredients for, so that you're not rooting through your fridge trying to remember what you bought at the store.

here is the original for LIFE in Yellow

I've used it a couple times, but I kept wishing there was one more box on the list because we really do not eat out very much. We get so much more for our money when we eat at home, and it is so much better for us.

So this morning while doing my meal planning for the week, I decided to make one that has 5 boxes across the top instead of 4. Anyone with a toddler will tell you that going to the store with a toddler will either turn out great or turn out disastrous. With William, it is normally disastrous :( he hates to sit in the shopping cart for more than 10 minutes. Thus I try to limit the number of times I go to the store.
5 day meal planning grocery list

Having a list makes going to the store easier, and I don't end up buying a bunch of junk that we really don't need. It never fails that when I go to the store without a list, I come home with junk and nothing worth while to make for dinner.

Here the list is in action on our fridge. I make sure to check things off while at the store rather than crossing them out so that I know what goes into each recipe at a glance. I have been trying really hard recently to get organized, and this list is a big helper!

Happy Shopping :)
