In my quest to become more organized, I have started to tackle different rooms around the house. The first room on my list is the laundry room. It is more of a laundry closet, so based on its size, it was the easiest one to start with. When we moved in there wasn't a hanging rod in there, so I installed one myself after a quick trip to Home Depot. I love Home Depot :)
Since the room is
small tiny, the slightest mess made it seem very cluttered. I had laundry piled on the dryer, shirts hanging up that got pushed to the side and had been there probably a month, and there was dryer lint all over everything!
The after actually makes the room look a decent size. Basically I cleaned and sorted the clutter off of the top of the dryer (most of it was trash or laundry), I put away the abandoned hanging clothes, and I even organized the cabinets.
As you can see, before the cabinets were a random assortment of everything. I found two bottles of laundry soap that I didn't even know were there! Basically, if something didn't have a place, it ended up in the cabinets in the laundry room.
The after makes me so much happier because now everything has a place! (except the light bulbs, they're just kinda hanging out on the shelf) I even organized all of our tool bags. The big Husky tool box has the drill, sander, and extra batteries/attachments for the power tools. The smaller one has screwdrivers and everyday useful tools (hammer, wrench, etc.). And the pink one on the top shelf has all the random extras that we might need again aka soldering iron.
I wish there was more I could do to the room, but we rent and our landlords don't allow painting :( Does anyone have some fun ways to decorate without painting? I've been racking my brain for ideas and it's always nice to get a fresh perspective :)
Now the goal is to keep it organized and clean!
